Lawrence County Courts
The Circuit Courts have general jurisdiction over civil cases with any cause of action over $25,000, criminal felony cases that are transferred from the Associate Court.
The Associate Courts have general jurisdiction over civil cases with any cause of action under $25,000, small claims, traffic tickets, municipal cases where the municipality has not elected to maintain their own court system, criminal misdemeanors and felonies, Juvenile cases, Domestic cases, and oversee Family, Treatment, and Probate Courts.
CIRCUIT COURT DIVISION
Lawrence County Law Day:
Circuit Division I: First Monday of each month unless it is a Holiday, then it is moved to the Tuesday thereafter.
Circuit Division II: Second Monday and Tuesday of each month unless there is a Holiday, then it is moved to the second Tuesday and Wednesday.
